It’s about time I officially announce that next month I will publish my first book under my pen name, Anastasia Austin! (Did you notice the new menu link above?)
I mentioned self publishing in my February writing update but didn’t go into much detail. Now, it’s time for more detail!
Middle of February, I decided to start writing romance with the intent to self publish.
On February 12th, I started drafting. March 10th, I finished drafting. March 12th, I started my first revision. Finished it on the 17th. Did another read-through and line edit on the 18th and asked a few people to beta read today!
Things are moving right along and at this rate, I hope to hit “publish” before the end of April.
But first, I have a few things on my to-do list:
- One more revision after beta readers submit their feedback.
- Reveal the cover and blurb.
- Create a listing on Goodreads using the account I created for my pen name.
- Decide how much of the book I’m going to release as a sneak peek, then release it.
- Figure out how the heck to organize a blog tour for ARCs (Advance Reader Copies.)
- Flail for infinity
It’s a lot to do in a month but I think I can do it. Especially with the amazing support I have from my husband, family, and friends.
If you have any advice to share, I’d love to hear it!

I can’t wait to share this journey with you! I’ve had been so frustrated with my writing, for way too long, but this broke me out of it. I’m motivated, excited, and actually making it happen. Not just saying I will someday.
Finally, I’m moving forward!
