Thanks to Ashleigh Bekkah, I’m going to give this 2018 Book Challenge a try!
Also, you can check out Vicki’s original post about this reading challenge here!
I’ve only read 3 books this year. Here’s what I’ve have, so far!
- A book published this year
- A book picked for you by someone else
- A book you can finish in a day
- A book you’ve already read
- A book borrowed from your local library
- A book that is a friend’s favorite
- A book published before you were born
A book you own but have never readAll three took care of this one 😛- An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson
- The Beast is an Animal by Peternelle van Arsdale
- Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
- A book that is non fiction
- A book from your childhood
- A book from a bestseller list
- A book written in the decade you were born
I have my work cut out for me, but I think this will make choosing my reads fun. Plus, since I don’t necessarily own a book to fit every item on the list, this gives me a good excuse to go the library more often 🙂
To keep up, I’ll post an update whenever I finish a book on this list. If nothing else, I’ll add it to my monthly update post!
So, how ’bout you? What are you reading this year?
Great start! Thank you so much for taking part.

It’s a great challenge. Not too difficult, but will force me to spread my wings a bit since I tend to stick to YA fantasy. My husband already picked my non fiction read. Walden and “Civil Disobedience” by Henry David Thoreau 🙂

Do you have a review up for the Enchantment of Ravens? I’m curious what you thought about it 😊

I don’t have a full, detailed review, but my initial thoughts are in my January monthly update. 🙂 If you want to, I’d love to chat about it. https://annmarieswaim.com/2018/02/01/writing-monthly-update/

Well you had the same exact thought as mine so I feel happy now 😂😂 I thought I was the only one who felt like it was off somehow.

The beginning had so much promise. And it wasn’t like I didn’t like the book. It just didn’t go where I hoped it would have. And once I was on board with where it did go, it was over. It was a strange experience.

Exactly. I hope the sequel will have a better pacing because the story really was interesting. The execution wasn’t just the best.

Is there supposed to be a sequel? I thought it was a standalone. :O

I saw it on For the love of Books blog 😀 https://ashleighbekkah.wordpress.com/2018/02/04/2018-reading-challenge-and-january-update/
And I did complete it! It was a lot of fun! Read several things I otherwise wouldn’t have.
